This tree can grow to over ten feet tall and produces medium sized, white fleshed, freestone peaches. When fully ripened, the fruit is soft and exceptionally sweet and aromatic; like none other you've ever tasted! When not yet fully ripe, it is more crisp and moderately sweet. Plant Background Information:The scientific name for the Chinese variety of peach is Prunus persica. Commonly called China Pearl, it was first domesticated in Zhejiang province of Eastern China. As it spread to different regions of China, different cultivars evolved to suit various climates and growing conditions. You will receive a variant of China Pearl that blooms around February and fruits around July. Plant Care Information:Peach trees grow best in rich, loamy or silt soil. We use organic growing practices and never use chemical fertilizers; homemade compost and wood chips work just as well. Water moderately and grown outdoors in full sunlight. In hot climates, plant in a location with afternoon shade. Chinese peach trees are cold-hardy and disease resistant. However, they should be protected from subzero temperatures. As with all peach trees, pruning branches from mature trees will cause them to grow fewer, but larger fruits. In general, these trees are very easy to grow, low maintenance, and will produce bountiful fruits year after year!
