Description: A beautiful lot with 12 well frosted pieces of beach combed sea glass in PALE AMETHYST or SUNSHINE PURPLE, generally found in the Pacific Northwest, or on the sunny beaches of Puerto Rico. This is an uncommon type of sea glass that dates to 1920 or earlier. It was originally CLEAR, but the presence of small amounts of manganese in the glass batch made it photoreactive to sunlight, and over time it turned pale purple. These are some of the most colored pieces I have seen!. These are in generally smaller sizes and all have been carefully END DRILLED by my friend whose sea glass stock I am selling; she made sea glass jewelry for many years but has moved on to a different art form. Note: I do NOT drill sea glass! Selling off the best of a 30-years+ personal seaglass collection, beach combed primarily from the Pacific Northwest, California, Puerto Rico and Hawaii; almost all in FLAWLESS condition or excellent jewelry quality. Includes many rare and popular colors in jewelry quality. Once it's gone, it's gone... the beaches these pieces came from have mostly been picked clean now, so there is no more to follow this. Condition, etc.: Pieces are in smoothly frosted condition with only very minor irregular spots, some have the very "soft" frosting typical of sea glass from Puerto Rico.
