The 0.6" wide compression band solves problems caused by safety recesses found on some eyepieces and accessories. For smaller scopes that have small optical paths and don't benefit from larger adapters, this is a low profile and high quality visual back for attaching eyepieces, diagonals, cameras and other goodies. Fits the back of SCTs that have male 2" diameter threads. Removing the twist ring exposes male T-threads, so these adapters double as a sturdy T-thread adapter.
