The B-25 is a high-wing aircraft of all-metal construction with retractable three-point landing gear and a twin tail. The prototype flew in 1940, and a year later mass production began. Numerous variants of this bomber were produced during the war, including the B-25G (with a 75 mm cannon in the nose of the vehicle), the B-25H (with a 75 mm cannon and 6 machine guns in the nose of the vehicle) and the B-25J (with 8 12.7 mm machine guns in the forward fuselage). B-25 aircraft fought mainly in the Pacific Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Some of them were transferred to Great Britain and the USSR under the Lend-Lease agreement, where they made their combat debut at Stalingrad.
