Kenney was a noted British Latinist, who served as the Kennedy Professor of Latin. He specialised in textual criticism, and was a leading expert on the works of Ovid and Lucretius. Kenney had a unique test when he was interviewing candidates for the college, having his cat Fufu in the room during the interview, and judging the candidates on how they treated his cat. CONDITION In a full calf binding. Externally, with some light rubbing and marks to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small cracks to the joints. Light tidemark to the tail of the front board. Front hinge starting but firm. Front endpaper is detaching a little. Prior seller's adverts adhered to the front pastedown. Bookplate to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean with a few odd spots.
