Designed by Robert Scot the coins were struck on copper planchets weighing 10.89 grams that were 29 mm in diameter. They feature a portrait ‘emblematic of Liberty’ as ordered by the coinage act of 1792. The image was more refined than the early likenesses with the hair of Liberty tied back with a ribbon and the bust draped in cloth. Problem free examples of this early Mint design are heavily sought after in all grade levels. This is an excellent coin to add to your collection.
