Description: This is an extremely fine replica of a 17th century Sail Guard Main Gauche / Left-Handed Dagger/Short Sword from the United Kingdom. It is in pristine condition, unsharpened, and made of carbon steel. The guard features fine, floral-motif embossing. The patina is consistent of the age (probably late 19th century). There is no sheath/scabbard. It is 20" in total length, the blade measures 14", and carries an unusual 'thumb rest' on the bottom of the blade above the inside of the guard. The twisted steel quillons measure 9". The handle is wrapped silver wire in excellent condition. It is unsharpened. I have had it in my collection for over 25 years. Fine for a Renaissance period cosplayer or as an addition to your armory collection. ***All Ebay purchase conditions apply. Actual shipping costs may differ from Ebay calculations.
