A Muggletonian work originally written in 1692 by devout Muggletonian Thomas Tomkinson. Its intention was to illustrate the devotion of historical religious teachers, such as Moses and St. Thomas Apostle, to 'none but Christ', hence its title. Muggletonianism was a small Protestant Christian movement in the mid to late seventeenth century founded by Lodowicke Muggleton. It began as a sub-sect of the Ranters and opposed the Quakers. This copy is a later impression published in 1822. A scarce work. CONDITION In blue paper wraps. Externally, some wear to the wraps and tidemarks to the head of the wraps and spine. Internally, firmly bound. A few spots to the pastedowns and endpapers and pages 11 to 18. Some light offsetting to the odd page.
