Description: This 1834 Classic Head Half Cent is a rare and valuable addition to any coin collector's type set. With its bright features and colorful toning, it is an outstanding example of early copper coinage of the United States. Designed by John Reich, it weighs 5.44 grams and measures 23.5mm. This scarce coin is highly detailed with a stunning red/brown color and is in outstanding condition appropriate for its era. Two obverse rim dings are as shown in the photos. The last two photos of the reverse show raised areas near the wreath that give the impression of extra leaves, although their cause is unknown. A mystery for the purchaser to unravel. PCGS estimates only 100 red/brown coins and only 2500 brown coins of this year and type (inclusive of all grades) survive today of its low 141,000 mintage. This previously treasured coin is a must-have for any serious coin collector looking to add a piece of American history to their collection.
