Description: This is an early blue transfer print Staffordshire coffee pot or teapot from the 1840s....although it has no maker's mark on bottom, I've seen many very similar pattern pots that were made in the 1840s.....real nice blue transfer printed classical scene with mother, her child and a dog with urns, etc....cluster of grapes on the underside of spout and also finial on top of original lid.....ornate applied handle....8 sided pot with original 8 sided lid....7 1/2"tall to top of handle...8 3/4"to top of lid.....Excellent condition with only one small chip on underside of spout; no other damage to the pot itself. The lid has 3 chips on the bottom. A nice clean pot with only one minor stain near shoulder. A great looking early blue Staffordshire coffee or tea pot.....
