This coin represents a specimen of the large letter variety 1858 issue (please review the scans to confirm the variety). The coin is better than the photos suggest and shows wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. The coin shows a flying eagle with the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" surrounding it and the date below on the obverse. The reverse shows the denomination spelled out within a wreath. This is an about good coin, which shows a beautiful design with no obvious detrimental issues, but with considerable wear. These coins were designed by James Longacre. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: 1858. Mint: Philadelphia. Size and weight: Weighs ~4.3 grams of a copper-nickel alloy and is 19 mm in diameter. References: This is KM# 85 and is listed in page 109 in "2023 US Coin R. S. Yeoman (The Official Red Book), 76th edition, Jeff Garrett, Senior Editor, Published by Whitman Publishing, LLC, Atlanta, GA". Condition: I would grade the coin as about good. The coin appears to be problem free with honest and considerable wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. It has wear to the front and back. The wear is throughout and evenly distributed.
