Description: 1868 Sevres, France hand painted cup & saucer - S68. No flaws (like chips, cracks, repairs).This beautiful Sevres Hand Painted cup and saucer are sky blue in color with gold trim.The cup measures in at 4 5/8" tall and sits on a 2 inch base with an opening of 3 1/2".The cup sports a beautiful hand painted country garden scent with a young gentleman swooning a loverly young lady that is sitting on a bench with a small cottage and a fountain in the background.The scene is surrounded with a gold frame with vines and flowers.The saucer measures in at 7 1/8" in diameter and sports two different scenes as if looking at the cottage from the lake.These too are framed in the same manner as the portrait on the cup.There is some wear in the gold around th rim of the cup and the rim of the saucer but nothing serious.The gold on the handle is not worn.It looks as though the pieces were never used.The two pieces are both marked with an S68 in green surrounded with an oval.They are Sevres soft paste porcelain from the 1850's-1860's.At this time, I am liquidating my entire Sevres collection (see last 4 pictures), every week a few of them.Please check my other listings for additional pieces.Shipping in the Continental USA only.
