Description: Unused 1870s transportation contract for the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad Co. This road was formed in 1833 primarily to haul anthracite coal from northern Pennsylvania to Philadelphia. In 1871 the Reading Railroad was the largest company in the world. (4.2" x 11") Please examine pictures closely for condition. Creased where previously folded with additional creases, corner missing at the upper left, two internal tears in the top diagonal crease (15/16", 5/8"), separations in the ends of the folds (3/8" at right top, 1/4" at the upper right), stains on both sides. Original, not a reproduction. Will refold at lowest vertical crease for shipping.
