The print : " The Cooper Of Nuremberg " 19th century German barrel maker holding the hand of the young woman he loves. Barrels and barrel making tool ( cooper's hand adze / hammer ) at the left side of the scene. This is a color lithograph ( paper ), 9 1/4" x 11 3/8" " Lithographed by G. F. Gilman , 1875 " ( the print is titled and dated, however the information is at the lower margin and can't be seen when in the frame ) The frame : 19th century two-part picture frame. Carved walnut wood with gilt composition ( gold ) inner border and beveled cove. 1800s square-head nails at the mitered corners. Original wooden backing. Original sheet glass. Screw-eyes with string hanger. This antique frame was made the same era as the lithograph ; circa 1875. ------------- Frame size : Rabbet size ( size of picture that fits ) - 9 1/4" x 11 1/2" Overall frame size - 12" x 14" Sight ( viewing area from the front ) - 9" x 11" About 1 3/8" deep, overall. ------------- Condition. The lithograph is in very good condition and still has good color. The picture frame has surface wear ( a little dark wood stain would help ). The sheet glass is good. Carefully packed for shipment to the buyer.
