Description: A rare first edition of Wallace's classic, who together with Darwin founded the theory of evolution. A beautiful decorative binding with many plates and color maps, some fraying to the edge of the spine, weakening to the hinges (front and back end-paper chipped/loose), and a couple ex-library marks at the beginning and to the back end-paper. Generally in good shape otherwise. There may be one or two pages with a chipped page corner and there appears to be one tissue guard that is creased. See pictures for a closer look!
