The cylindrical vase is etched with gilt birds in the French Japonisme Aesthetic Movement style of the 1880s.The crystal glass vase is in an unusual red, not ruby, coloration with an orange cast. The vase is ornamented with a gilt Greek key border along the top, with gilt birds circling the vase below clouds and above etched and gilded waves around the base. Four ormolu flowering trees attached to a circular ribbed ring support the vase. The stamp for Baccarat appears on the reverse of the metal base. The overall height of the vase measures 8 11/16" and 3 1/8" in diameter with a thickness of 1/4". The base measures 4 11/16" in width. The glass vase is in very good vintage condition with a minimum of rubbing to the gilt at the wave area. There are no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.
