Description: After more than 60 years of collecting coins, it is time to move my collections along to new homes. Here is a really neat classical designed 1883 Netherlands bronze one cent issued under William III who reigned from 1849-1890. The obverse has the symbol of Belgium, a crowned royal lion advancing left within a beaded circle, holding a cache of arrows and a sword. This design is against a horizontally lined field. The date is below with a privy mark and a broad ax to either side of the date. While circulated, this coin still retains very good detail and has evenly toned to a nice light chocolate brown. On the reverse is a more simple design, the one cent value within a wreath. The coin has not been cleaned or conserved in any way and has two small spot of verdigris on the number one that can be seen in the photo. The coin has a reeded edge, weighs 2.50 gm and is 19 mm in diameter. As everything needs to find a new home, I am offering this one at a good price and it comes with FREE SHIPPING to within the US.
