Description: 1889 N13 Allen and Ginter Game Birds. This artistic and visually stunning Allen & Ginter issue features 50 birds of sport mostly in action scenes against a natural background. Lithography by Harris & Co. A great vintage tobacco set from the late 1800’s. I have been fortunate to find a few very nice sets over the past decade and there are some very high grades that I have decided to offer. I’ve discover an undocumented variation on this set that you may notice in some of the duplicates. Because of the horizontal nature of the cards, some of them were printed right to left and some were printed left to right (almost a mirror image). I haven’t found either version to be more scarce, but I’m really not sure if one version is more rare than the other. At 131 years old, these cards are in amazing condition.
