Description: 1898 O Barber Half PCGS MS 65 50C Pop 8 Key Date 6 Finer Color Scarce "Friend". A very nice coin destined for a true Barber Half collection! I've had this one for almost 5 years and am cleaning out some of my personal collection. I purchased this from Heritage and am including their description when I bought it:1898-O Half Dollar, MS65Wonderfully Toned, Seldom Finer1898-O 50C MS65 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Friend. The low-mintage of 874,000 pieces and a scarcity of coins in all grades qualify the 1898-O Barber half as a key series issue, although it is not as highly regarded as it perhaps should be. This beautifully toned example was once in the Friend Collection. It displays coruscating mint luster with vibrant shades of peach-gold, robin's egg blue, and lilac-gray, perfectly matched one side to the other. The strike is uneven -- reasonably bold on the obverse, but less-so on the reverse, where the eagle's neck, shield corner, wing junction and leg all show the light strike that typifies this New Orleans issue. The date is repunched, most visibly at the ball of the 9. Population: 8 in 65, 6 finer. CAC: 5 in 65, 3 finer (10/19). Fixed price with offers accepted on this one. I've included lots of pictures. Not sure they do it justice - please take a look! Check out my other coins (and trading cards). Buy with confidence in my perfect eBay feedback since 1998 - over 26 years!
