1934 Plane Crash “Death of an Aviator”. Graphic Crash-Site Photo!!!

Description: Up for auction is a 7” X 9” photo of a 1934 plane crash site. The body of the pilot can still be seen in the cockpit. As stated in the Letter of Authenticity, photos of this graphic nature while often taken was seldom released to the public. The victim of this crash is identified in the newsprint on the reverse as Kenneth P. Gardner, former U.S Army pilot from March Field (California?). Pinholes/staples along top edge which should not effect the display of the photo. Note: Watermark does not appear on actual photo. Information contained on LOA: 1934 Incredibly rare and graphic photograph of a small airplane crash with the burned body of the pilot still sitting in the cockpit. Images like this were taken often by news reporters but VERY rarely were they actually developed and sent via news-service to paper for publication because of the sensitive nature of the subject. This is a rare exception, issued by Acme and with a full paper caption on the back. Images like this are almost impossible to find with this one being in high grade (note to pinholes at the top) and extremely clear.Size: 7x9Designation: Vintage 1Condition: 4/5Quality: 5/5Overall Grade: 9/10Please excuse any shadows appearing in the photos. I can provide additional photos or scans upon request. Please view all photos including the description contained in the Letter of Authenticity as it forms the basis of information regarding this photo. Please pay particular attention to size and description of any major defects. The photos I am listing nearly all come from the photo archives of newspapers across the country, and some or all received varying levels of handling through the years.
