Description: You’re bidding on a vintage, original Women’s ASA Softball Trophy awarded to the 1938 All State Pitcher in San Antonio, TX. An inscription on back of the trophy states it was “Given By Lou Hamilton.” I found this 7” x 2-3/4” trophy several years ago at a San Antonio estate sale. The female figure is 5” tall and sits on a 2” plastic pedestal. This trophy was awarded to Grace Williams — who some describe as being “San Antonio’s Answer To Babe Dedrickson.” A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School (San Antonio), age overachieved in softball, bowling, tennis, and bowling. She pitched for the Alamo Jewelers ladies softball team. My limited research indicates Lou Hamilton was a longtime official in the Amateur Softball Association (ASA). She also served 43 years in various recreation activities in San Antonio. Good Luck and Happy Bidding on this one-of-a-kind ASA trophy!!!
