For the serious collector of Judaica and Holocaust related philately this is an exceptional item. Cover is in very good condition but been cut. Mauthausen was a massive concentration camp complex in Austria designed to kill through forced labor the "incorrigible enemies of the reich", it tended to have political prisoners and members of the intelligentsia in it rather than criminals and the ordinary undesirables of the Third Reich (i.e., Jews, gypsies, Slavs, etc.).
