Description: This vintage Gillette safety razor is a rare find for collectors. Made in the 1940s, it features a gold-plated brass handle and comes with its original case. The razor was manufactured in the United States and is not handmade. It is a great addition to any collection of vintage shaving items. The top cap and guard bars have lost the most gold plating but they still shine. The blade deal and baseplate have nice gold finishes. The handle is superb with its gold finish and excellent textured knurling. The TTO knob and butterfly doors operate smoothly. The razor has been cleaned and sanitized. The case is a rare piece with an an excellent gold tone finish. I was able to use some elbow grease and good old Brasso to give it a nice shine. I love the detailing on the top. I spotted the identical case on mr-razor.com. and it was listed as a 1941 Aristocrat. It was also shown in the New Improved category under 1926 Gold Bostonian. The inside is in fair condition and you can barely make out Aristocrat on the background. So for a case that is about 100 years old it can be finicky. If you close it and press down firmly it stays shut. If you put a blade bank in it, it pops open, thus no blade bank. Sorry. The case is gorgeous and it includes one vintage Thin Gillette Blade.
