Description: Original WWII Okinawa 1945-46 Photo from a set by a J.K. Hofer of Freeman SD. A very small town so I'm assuming he was a serviceman on Okinawa at wars end, shot these quality photos and came home and put together this set of photos for sale? The set was 120 or so photos. I haven't seen any exact photos of these before so there are none of the usual official Signal Corps or other branches of service official photos or wire service photos. None of the usual war shots, of locals, etc which were sold stateside or on Okinawa PX's. None of the typhoons that hit in Sept & Oct so he might have arrived on Okinawa after they hit. Most of the dates are 1945 some into 1946. See size in the condition box above.
