Description: Original large-format T.S.S. Tadoussac luncheon menu, with handsome graphics by Canadian artist Clair Stewart, printed more than 60 years ago. The menu opens to a generous 28 x 43 cm [11" x 17"] and includes views of the Tadoussac Hotel and the Manoir Richelieu at Murray Bay, along with a map of a section of the St. Lawrence River. The front cover artwork is signed by Clair Stewart in the upper corner and includes a map of Lake Superior and a full-length portait of Pierre-Esprit Radisson who, with his brother-in-law Médard Chouart, Sieur Des Groseilliers established trading routes that led to the creation of the Hudson's Bay Company in the 17th century. This menu was published by Canada Steamship Lines. It is undated but was printed circa 1952. Clair Stewart (1910-2008) was one of the earliest and most significant graphic designers in Canada. A few years after this menu was published, Stewart joined with Ted Morrison to form Stewart and Morrison, Canada's first truly modern graphic-design company. Condition: This T.S.S. Tadoussac luncheon menu is in very good condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. Buy with confidence!
