Description: One stylish piece right here. All metal casing with an vinyl or oil cloth type coating which looks and feels almost like rough fabric or the wool fleck fabric some great suits were made of years earlier. Made to be water and dirt resistant most likely. And it worked. The handle and two side knobs are hard plastic, maybe bakelite, maybe post bakelite. The entire back is one whole panel on two hinges. You could run this, a tube radio, on batteries or use power cord. No batteries in it now but the cord appears to be the original. There is a diagram inside as well. So I plug in and turn on, after a few seconds, sound, large hum of the universe. Then power cuts out. You have to make sure back panel is really closed for cord to plug into radio and remain plugged in. Now I am in a remote location deep in a narrow valley. We get no over air fm or TV and its been a long time since tried but I don’t think any am, certainly not clear. But I could make out no discernible change in sound with Arvin as I was turning the tuner knob. Bad place to test it, great place to live. So it may need some tinkering, may not. If so, It should not be much. Close up photos inside and out for your complete description. 11” widest point 8 1/2” tall to top of handle.
