You are purchasing an ORIGINAL 1962 "Topps" Civil War News - "Currency $1,000. Serial #176.This bill is in near-mint to near-mint/mint condition. (Nice sharp corners!) Definitely should be a high gradable bill!! However, I am NOT a grader of cards. Just an avid collector of vintage pre-1970 non-sports cards.This IS a very nice "crisp" bill! I believe I was the first to open and lay flat for these pictures! (Note: the Topps series of these currencies have "blueish backs" where the English, A&BC (1965) version have "black backs.") These currencies were offered one per pack of 5 Civil War News cards. Each bill WAS folded in it's center to fit nicely in the pack. So, subsequently ALL currencies have a crease or fold in them. There were a total of 17 different currency bills offered in denominations from $1.00 to $1000. These currencies are getting harder and harder to locate in any condition. These 1962 Topps Civil War News, currencies are also highly collectible and very sought after mid 20th century non-sports card items. This currency will make a great addition for your set building, or an excellent starter card if you are starting your 1962 Topps "Civil War News Currency" collection! I have been collecting the classic U.S.A. Topps series cards since their release in the spring of 1962.
