Models of the Boeing 707-320B Intercontinental (eft) and the new Boeing 747 in 1/100th scale show the difference in size of the jetliners. The 707-320B, largest jet now in airline service, has a wingspan of 145 feet, length of 152 feet and a fuselage width of 12 feet 4 inches. It weighs 328,000 pounds fully loaded and can carry up to 199 passengers. In comparison, the new Boeing 747 is 228 feet long with a wing span of 195 feet. Its fuselage width is 21 feet 3 inches and it will weigh 680,000 pounds at full gross weight. It will carry up to 490 passengers. The 707-320B is powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT3D turbofan engines, each rated at 18,000 pounds thrust.
