Around the upper border is the face value, "10 Israeli Lirot" in Hebrew on the silver and "100 Israeli Lirot" on the gold. The mint year 5729-1969 is engravedin the border, to the right in Hebrew and to the in English. This commemorative coin, dedicated to the first Jewish soldier whose burial place remains unknown, bears the inscription from the book of Deuteronomy (34:6) depicting the death of Moses, whose sepulcher remains unknown. A special tombstone has been erected in memory of the missing soldiers, in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, inside the section of "The Missing Soldiers".
