Description: 1969 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe electric guitar, serial number: 913182 with carved maple top with “Gold Top” finish. Distinguishing features for dating this year of manufacture are: a six digit serial number; there is no “Made In USA” stamp on the headstock; no volute at the top of the neck; the ”I” in the Gibson logo is not dotted; it has a three piece mahogany neck and a four-piece “pancake style” body and mini-humbucking pickups. Please note that the original individual Gibson tuners with “rounded” metal covers have been replaced with individual Gibson Deluxe tuners with “boxy shape” covers and “single ring” keystone-shape plastic buttons (e.g., production of “boxy shape” Gibson Deluxe tuners begins in the year 1983).The finish appears to be original and exhibits typical deterioration with small impact marks, surface scratches, and compression marks. (See photos.)The guitar has great action and plays very well. Sustain for days.It comes in a period-correct hard-shell case with black leatherette covering and yellow plush lining. This guitar was photo appraised by Gruhn Guitars in Nashville with a current market value of $12,500.Reasonable offers will be accepted (Appraisal is available upon request.)
