This would include the Bonneville, Tiger, Trophy, Trident and Hurricane models. Email with your year, make and model of bike if you are unsure of fitment. Many of these bikes were chopped, (in one form or another), we have included a picture of our dusty, retired, Trident depicting the exact original location for this switch on the 1973-74 Trident. You will receive a fully assembled OEM Made in England ignition switch as pictured. The parts included are: 60-0622 two (2) OEM LUCAS keys, 82-6981 OEM LUCAS tumbler, 54130041 chrome nut, 31899 or 99-0558 the switch housing and 97-2262 the rubber cover. Included as a special bonus, is the ever elusive, fibre washer behind the chrome nut, (which is not shown in the OEM parts catalogs) and the original LUCAS box. We also have OEM Parts, Shop and Owners manuals available in our store. Please look at all of the pictures included in this listing. NOTE: It does not matter if your old switch had 3 or 4 prongs. All "2 way" switches for these bikes are the same, they are "3" or "4" prongs with "2" terminals. CONNECTED basically just ON or OFF. The BLUE/BROWN, LIVE negative wire from the battery (this is a positive ground bike) goes to one prong on the terminal of the switch, another BLUE/BROWN wire goes off the other prong on that same terminal to the head lamp switch which controls the parking lights. A WHITE wire goes to the other terminal of the switch which feeds live electricity to all of the other lights, horns and ignition once the switch is turned on. Simple but effective. ALSO NOTE: There is some confusion evident with these switches due to "funky 1971-72" Triumph part numbers and/or diagrams in the OEM parts book. There were "4" position switches and "2" position switches installed on various models. This listing is for the "2" position switch, basically on off with the headlamp switch controlling the lights. It has a flange on the bottom with two mounting holes and uses a rubber cover to protect the back. The problem being that the "4" way switch which is round with no flange and this switch are both listed as type 149SA? Brilliant!!!! Some Norton Commandos used the larger round "4" way switch, supposedly so did the 1971-72 Triumph 650's but not ours? The parts diagram for the 1971-72 Triumph 650 shows the "2" way switch in this listing however that may be the wrong diagram? If your not confused yet, great, you belong in the world of British motorcycles. Email with your year, make and model of bike if your are unsure of fitment, hopefully we can help.
