Therefore, because his last game with the Los Angeles Kings was November 29, 1973 and the card set was issued in early November, the window of opportunity to obtain this autograph was small indeed. The original owner, from Bloomington, Minnesota, opened packs two days before the game against the Minnesota North Stars, on November 7, 1973 and obtained this blue ballpoint pen signature in person in the presence of Real Lemieux himself. The autograph would grade high and the card itself is a very nice. Quite possibly the only surviving example and absolutely the finest known.
