Description: Here's a nice Orville Explorer, that has faded to a butterscotch/caramel Korina. Orville Explorers don't come up often and most that I've seen usually have gold hardware. According to the serial number, J512161, this was made in the Terada factory in Japan, on December 1995; production number 161. J indicates these are Japanese pickups (not Gibson). The electronics appear original. The pickguard that came with it with was not original and didn't fit properly. It's included as I have no use for it. Most examples come with a white pickguard, so I had a custom one made in an off-white called parchment. It was professionally setup a week ago with new D'addario regular lights EXL110 (.010/.013/.017/.026/.036/.046). Frets were polished and the fretboard cleaned as well. The patina on the bridge was left as-is because if it's nickel it might not buff out nicely. The guitar came with a couple of stickers on it, and after carefully removing them one left a small rectangular unfaded shadow in the top horn - noted in the pictures.I've played a lot of guitars and this neck is fantastic. All the electronics work as expected. Orvilles are known to rival Gibson USA in terms of quality, and my guitar tech says he will take a Japanese guitar like this over a USA made one any day of the week.Included is a period gig bag, along with an equally period strap whose leather ends are hard as a rock :)I typically can't ship Tue/Wed/Thu.
