Description: MTS ANTIQUE JEWELLERY BOXES WONDERFUL LARGE 19C COROMANDEL ANTIQUE JEWELLERY BOX - FAB INTERIOR For sale is a WONDERFUL 19c figured veneered Coromandel inlaid antique restored and repolished jewellery box. Dates approximately 1830/1870. In WONDERFUL restored condition.Couple of veneer repairs to the right side top edge otherwise a terrific box in great restored order. Its becoming harder and harder to obtain boxes in this sort of condition. Solid brass central cartouche with the initials MLN and original solid brass keyhole escutcheon. The front draw is accessed by removing the solid brass later internal rod. The draw runs in and out with ease using the small Victorian solid brass knob. It is a really terrific box!! I’M PRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Box retains the original solid brass lock, original top catch with later pins and, original hinges. Comes complete with a Victorian key that sadly does not lock the box and is supplied and described as being decorative only. YOU ONLY GET THIS TYPE OF QUALITY FROM US. Comprising a wonderful interior that has been relined in expensive velvet material of the highest quality, the same as the interior of the box and the front draw. All the added dividers within the top compartment and front draw can easily be repositioned or removed if desired. The top compartment can hold a few rings in an upright position. Beneath the base of the box has also been lined in velvet to stop any scratches to other surfaces. A superb box, and would make a fantastic gift.
