FROM ABOVEIA REAL COSTLY MISTAKE!!!!!!THERE ARE FUEL PUMPS OUT THERE THAT LOOK ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE OE ONE YOU SEE HERE FOR YOUR ENGINE.THEM DEFECTIVE FAKES WILL NOT WORK RIGHT AND WE SERIOUSLY MEAN THAT MOST DO NOT EVEN WORK AT ALL STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PACKAGE!!! LOOK AT OUR PHOTOS TO SEE WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT OF WHAT THEY ARE USING FOR THEIR INTERNAL COMPONETS.THEIR DIAPHRAGM IS MADE OF SOMEWEIRD THIN RUBBER THAT WAS EITHER SPRAYED ON OR ROLLED OUT OVER TOP OFWHAT ("TO US") LOOKS LIKE A NYLON MESH SCREEN, WITH PLASTIC VALVES TRYING TO SEAL TO PLASTIC, A BRASS WEEP THAT LOOKS LIKE A BRASS CLOSED CELL AND A SPRING THAT IS A THICKER DIAMETER THAT IS JUST TOO STIFF!!!WE PONDERED FOR A MOMENT OF WHAT PERSON PUT WHOEVER IN CHARGE TO MAKE THESE ALL WRONG INLIKE EVERY AREA!AT FIRST WE LAUGHED AND THEN WE CAME TO WHAT WE NOW BELIEVE WASTHAT THEY WERE BEING MADE THAT WAY ON PURPOSE!!!HERE IS WHERE YOU START SAVING MONEY ANDNOT WASTE TIME WORKING ON THINGS!!!1. WITH THEIR DIAPRAGM HAVING THAT LAYER OF SOME KIND OF THIN RUBBER SPRAYED ON OR ROLLED OUT OVER TOP OF THATNON-STRETCHABLE NYLON MESH SCREEN, THEN HOW IS IT (THE DIAPHRAGM) SUPOSSED TOFLUCTUATE BACK AND FORTH TO PUMP THE FUEL! WE CANNOT SEE WHERE IT POSSIBLY COULD!MAYBE AN 1/8" AT MOST OF MOVEMENT BUT NOWTHAT ALONE WILL PUT A LOT OF WEAR AND TEAR ON THE STARTER MOTOR WITH ALL THAT UNESSASARY CRANKING OF THEENGINE TO GET THE CARBURETOR PRIMED. THIS WILL ALSO PUT A LOT OF DRAWL ON THE BATTERY WHICH WILLSHORTEN ITS LIFE SPAN AS WELL!2. EVEN IF THEY USED A REAL CUPPED PIT LINER RUBBER DIAPHRAGM, THEIR BRASS BREATHER VENT WOULD NOT ALLOW THE ACTUAL AIR NEEDED TO PASS BACK AND FORTH THRU IT PULL THAT FUEL. THAT ALONE IS WHAT ALLOWS THE DIAPHRAME TO MAKE THE MOVEMENT IT NEEDS IN ORDER TO FEED THE CARBURETOR!!3. THEIR VALVES IN IT ARE ALSO MADE OF PLASTIC INSTEAD OF RUBBER! HOW IS THIN PLASTIC SUPOSSED TO REALLY SEAL UP AGAINST PLASTIC? IT WONT! THIS WILL CAUSE THE FUEL TO SEEP BACK TO THE FUEL TANK WHENTHE ENGINE IS SHUT DOWN. SPECIALLY IF THE FUEL TANK IS LOCATED AT A LOWER LEVEL UNDER THAT OF THE ENGINE, LIKE UNDER THE SEAT OF A TRACTOR WHICH IS ALSO A GREAT DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE ENGINE!!AGAIN, EVERY TIME YOU SHUT YOUR ENGINE DOWN, YOU WILL HAVE TO ALMOST CHOKE THE HECK OUT OF THE CARBURETOR TO HELP PULL THAT FUEL TOPRIME THE ENGINE!THEY HAVE TO BE MADE THIS WAY ON PURPOSE TO MAKE OTHER COMPONETS/PARTS TO FAIL MORE QUICKLY!LIKELY SO YOU WILL GO AND BUY THEIR CHEAP MADE STARTER MOTORS FROM THEM!PRETTY SMART ON THEIR PART IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT! WE ARE A SMALL ENGINE SALVAGE AND BUSINESS PARTS PLACE.AS A SALVAGE, WE SEE THESE ENGINES/EQUIPTMENT COME IN HERE WITH THESE CHEAP CHINA PARTS ON THEM.THEIR STARTER MOTORS WERE FOUND TO BE MADE WITH SHALLOW BRUSHES THAT USE WEAK SPRINGS! MUD WASPS ARE NOTORIS FOR PLUGGING THEM UP.IF YOU LOOSENED THE FUEL CAP AND THERE WAS STILL NO FUEL FLOW THEN IT IS SAFE TO SAY THAT THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE GAS TANK LIKE GRASS, LEAVES OR DEBRIS STOPING THE FUEL FLO. THIS SHOULD GIVE YOU AN INDICATION THAT YOU MAY NOT NEED A FUEL PUMP. NOW IF YOU KEEP YOUR GAS TANKS FUEL CAP JUST A LITTLE LOOSE AND THENBLOW SOME AIR INTO THE FUEL LINE GOING BACK TO THE FUEL TANK AND THEN PUT THE HOSE BACK INTO THE QUART JAR AND LOWER IT TO THE GROUND AGAIN AND YOU NOW HAVE FUEL FLOW. SHUT YOUR FUEL SHUT OFF VALVE BACK OFF.LEAVE THE FUEL INLET LINE OFF FROM THE FUEL PUMP.NOW PULL THE FUEL LINE OFF FROM THE FUEL PUMP THAT RUNS TO THE CARBURETOR.ATTACH A NEW SHORT PIECE OF FUEL LINE TO THE FUEL INLET PORT OF THE FUEL PUMP, NOW TRY TO BLOW ( BY MOUTH ONLY ) AIR INTO THE FUEL INLET OF THE FUEL PUMP.YOU SHOULD NOW FEEL AIR COMING OUT OF THE FUEL OUTLET OF THE FUEL PUMP.NOW TRY TO SUCK AIR BACK THRU THAT SAME FUEL INLET PORT LINE.IF YOU CAN'T, THEN THAT MEANS THAT THE TWO VALVES ON THE INSIDE OF THE FUEL PUMP ARE WORKING CORRECTLY.THEY SHOULD ONLY ALLOW ONE WAY FUEL FLOW.IF YOU ALSO DO NOT SEE ANY FUEL OR OIL COMING OUT OF THE BRASS BREATHER VENT ON THE FUEL PUMP, THEN THAT MEANS THAT YOUR FUEL PUMP IS ALL GOOD TO GO!IF YOU HAVE GASOLINE COMING FROM THE BRASS BREATHER VENT, THEN THAT EITHER MEANS THAT YOUHAVE THE FUEL LINE COMING FROM THE GAS TANK HOOKED UP TO THE VACUUM PORT OR YOUR DIAPHRAGM HAS A TINY PIN HOLE IN IT.IF NONE OF THAT IS HAPPENING THENYOUR PROBLEM IS ELSEWHERE! FIRST THINGS FIRST!!!IF YOU INSTALL THIS FUMP AND IT WORKS FOR AWHILE AND THEN QUITSWHAT DOES THIS TELL YOU?A VACUUM FUEL PUMP WILL NOT WORK FOR A FEW HOURS OR EVEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND THEN JUST QUIT!IT CANNOT, CANNOT, CANNOT POSSIBLY HAPPEN IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM ON ITS OWN!!! SOMETHING CAUSED IT TO QUIT. YOU EITHER HAVE A PLUGGED UP BREATHER VACUUM ELEMENT INSIDE THE ENGINE BLOCK, A PLUGGED UP GAS CAP VENT, OR YOU JUST RAN REAL BAD E-85 ETHANOL THRU THE PUMP WHICH WOULD MELT THE RUBBER VALVES OR YOU STILL HAVE SOMETHING IN THE DANG GAS TANK FOATING AROUND TO PLUG UP THE FUEL OUTLET PORT!MAYBE IT IS NOLONGER IN THE FUEL TANK AND NOW CLOGGED INTO THE NEW FUEL PUMP! NOW YOU NEED TO TRY TO...BLOW ( BY MOUTH ONLY ) THROUGH THAT HOSE THAT IS GOING TO THE CARBURETOR,IF YOU CANNOT, THENYOU NOW KNOW THAT THERE IS SOMETHING THAT IS MOST LIKELY PLUGGED IN THE NEEDLE SEAT AREA INSIDE OF THE CARBURETOR. SOMETHING IN THERE IS STOPPING YOUR FUEL FLOW. IF YOU ARE NOT A CERTIFIED MECHANIC THEN TAKE YOUR CARBURETOR TO ONE THAT IS. IF YOU ARE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC THEN REMOVE THE CARBURETOR FROM THE ENGINE. REMOVE THE FLOAT BOWL, THEN REMOVE THE FLOAT PIN THAT HOLDS THE FLOAT IN. BECAREFUL BECAUSE MOST NEEDLES ARE DIRECTLY ATACHED TO THE FLOAT. NOW GET SOME COMPRESSED AIR AND BLOW AIRBACK THRU THAT NEEDLE SEAT THAT YOU PULLED THE FLOAT NEEDLE FROM.IT SHOULD HAVE NOW BLOWN OUT WHATEVER IT WAS THAT PLUGGED IT UP. DO NOT STICK ANYTHING LIKE A SCREWDRIVER OR ANYTHING DOWN INTO THE NEEDLE SEAT AREA WHERE THE NEEDLE GOES. AIR ONLY!!!NOW ATTACH THE PIECE OF HOSE BACK UP TO THE PORT ON THE CARBURETOR AND BLOW LOW MOUTH AIR PRESURE IN IT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU DID GET WHATEVER IT WAS OUT OF THE NEEDLE SEAT.REPEAT AS ABOVE IF NESSASARY. IF YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE GOOD TO GO THEN PUT THE NEEDLE AND FLOAT BACK INTO THE CARB. AND REASSEMBLE THE CARBURETOR IN THE SAME MANNER IT WAS TAKEN APART. THEN TRY TO BLOW LOW PREASURE AGAIN BY MOUTH INTO THE INLET OF THE CARB. YOUR PROBLEM SHOULD NOW BE SOLVED. MOUNT THE CARB. BACK TO THE ENGINE AND NOW DO THIS...WHAT YOU NEED TO DO FROM YOUR FUEL TANK TO YOUR ENGINES CARBURETOR IS MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS ASSEMBELED IN THIS ORDER...WE DO NOT CARE HOW IT WAS DONE BY THE MANUFACTURER! A GOOD WAY IS TO DO THIS!!!USE ALL NEW CLEAR PVC FUEL LINE FROM GAS TANK PORT-to-FUEL SHUT OFF VALVE-to-NEW CLEAR FUEL LINE to-FUEL FILTER-to-CLEAR FUEL LINE-to-FUEL PUMP-to-CLEAR FUEL LINE-to-CARBURETOR. QUESTION:WHY DO WE SAY A SEDIMENT BOWL THAT WAS NEVER ON YOUR EQUIPTMENT THAT YOUR ENGINE IS ON? ANSWER:THE FIRST ANSWER IS... THEY WANT YOU TO KEEP BUYING PARTS!
