Description: This is Augustine’s introduction to art how to understand the Bible. He does not come about the strictly from scientific or literary and rhetorical analysis, but starts from a philosophical understanding of the world. This is a classic of early theology. The first book is something I bought in seminary long long ago. Outside of putting my name on the fly sheet inside the cover, I never did get to reading this version so the cover and binding are like new. No underlines or marks, no creases or dog eared pages. Never got to reading it because I had the same text in a larger set. Bonus Feature — the second volume is of the same printing, series, author, etc. St. Augustine’s On Free Choice of the Will. The binding is very good and the cover shows a bit of age, otherwise it looks good. Inside, this volume has highlighted pages, left behind to be helpful in finding the best bits. I did end up reading and writing about this one long ago. Perfect for folks reading up on the early church, on doctrine, or Patristics. I am a retired teacher/professor/priest and I am selling off my library now that I am no longer professionally active. Just looking for a good home for the books that I have loved over the years.
