Description: Up for sale here is this set of 4 brand new Onsemi TIP41C transistors, plus 4 new mica insulators. These are genuine Onsemi transistors, and are invaluable for vintage electronics restoration. They are great subs/replacements for a number of vintage transistors, and can be used to replace the 2SD91, 2SD92, 2SD130, and 2SD315 transistors found in many vintage stereos, including the Allied 435, Kenwood KA-2000, Marantz Model 26, Marantz 4230, Pioneer SA-500, Pioneer SX-440, Pioneer SX-770, and Sanyo DCX-2300K. These are a modern TO-220 transistor package, which can easily be used to replace the old TO-66 transistors. Don't buy counterfeit TO-66 transistors on eBay, just use these far superior new TIP41Cs for better performance at a lower cost. Here's how to install them: Cut off the center pin, then bend the two legs at a right angle so they point behind the transistor. Clean the heat-sinks off with a paper towel or shop rag to remove any old heat-sink compound. For each new output, put a little heat-sink compound on the back (I use a Q-tip/cotton swab for this), then put the new mica insulator on the back, feeding the legs through the insulator. Put a bit of heat-sink compound on the back of the insulator as well. Then mount the new transistor on the heat-sink so the two legs go through the two holes and the metal tab of the transistor lines up with the top hole where the old transistor was bolted down. Once you have installed all of these and the pins are installed in the sockets, you can bolt them down to the heat-sink/amp board using the old transistor mounting bolts. The trick here is that the metal tab is the transistor's collector, the same connection as the third pin that you cut off, so by bolting it down you are electrically connecting it to the board. There's a picture in this listing to show how they mount. The transistors in the pic are different, but it's the same concept. The heat-sink and other transistors are not part of this listing.
