The pattern is also commonly known as Friendship of Salem. It was first introduced by English porcelain manufacturer Enoch Wood & Sons in the early 1800s and the pattern proved to be very popular in the United States. The Friendship of Salem pattern depicts scenes from the American Navy’s earliest battles, including the Battle of Bunker Hill, the Boston Tea Party, and George Washington’s Revolutionary War crossing of the Delaware River. It also shows images of American ships sailing into exotic ports including Hong Kong and Canton, as well as life on board a ship. In the mid-20th century, the Salem China Company began producing the Friendship of Salem pattern under the name “Fair Winds”. The company produced a variety of pieces, including plates, bowls, teapots, and platters, all featuring the iconic maritime scenes. The pattern is still popular today, both as a collector’s item and as a stylish and elegant addition to any dining table. 🤎🤎🤎 We purchase our items from private collections, estate sales, flea markets, swap meets and of course antique shops!
