Description: 60s Shabby Chic Custom Painted Functional Art Gossip Bench or School Chair. Local pick-up or shipping arranged via UShip or UPS ground for flat charge. Quirky and Chic, Vintage "Gossip Bench" c. 1960 was painted by functional artist Judith Gries (aka Judestuff.com) of Gulfport, FL, c. 2003. It has been recycled into functional art for your home. The school desk combines an armless chair with small writing desk to the left with two storage cubbies for books and electronics. The stretchers also form a rack underneath the seat. Hand-painted original design features glossy swirls of black varnish over matte black acrylic paint. Seat is welted black cotton velvet. Some marks on velvet seat upholstery - very easy to recover as desired. A silk tassel hangs from underneath the book storage surface. 29"w x 19"d x 32.5"h. Seat Height 17". Perfect for a child's room or study area - especially for a "lefty" who must study at home! Or, a phone/device corner, or informal workspace. A one-of-a-kind conversation piece!
