Description: Welcome to The Textile Trunk ~ please follow us on Instagram, we are @textiletrunk This shawl is the most beautiful shawl I've ever had the privilege of finding. ~ this shawl is a masterpiece. I find photographing black so difficult , so this really is best seen and held to understand what a masterpiece it really is ( I have a 30 day return policy ::) ~ This is a square shawl and it dates from the late 1800's or very early 1900's. Two of the four corners are intricately hand embroidered in the most exquisite floral patterns. Trapunto was also used to raise the embroidery. The body of this shawl is a very very fine wool blend. The lace around the edges is all hand made~ this textile is a masterpiece, worthy of any museum or private collection. MEASUREMENTS : This textile measures 62 inches wide by 62inches long ~*~ ( not including the 5 inch lace border) Condition : This textile is in as found, unwashed condition for collectors, however it does need to be cleaned. It's in OUTSTANDING condition , very light signs of time or use, but it does need cleaning as there is light visible dusty areas that will wash beautifully . When I hold it to the light, I see only a few tiny holes ~ it's magnificent, the best I've ever seen! The need for cleaning is reflected in the price ~*~ Inventory number : H 55
