Published one month prior to the release of Preacher #1 in April of 1995, and is commonly cited as Jesse Custer's first appearance. As this collection and the 8 page black and white preview of Preacher #1 in December of 1994 contain a preview of the actual Preacher #1 issue, it moves into the Debatable First Appearance category depending on if you consider previews to contain the true first appearances of characters. If that is you, and you are a fan of the Preacher and do not have this, here is your chance to fix it. Preacher tells the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher in the small Texas town of Annville. Custer is accidentally possessed by the supernatural creature named Genesis, the infant of the unauthorized, unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon. The story follow Jesse, his ex and a tag along Irish vampire as they roam the globe searching for a missing God while being hunted by Heaven and Earth. “Hexy” is an original Invisibles story about a young girl named Hexy who is a member of the Invisibles. She is a powerful psychic and has the ability to manipulate reality. Hexy is on a mission to find the “Spear of Destiny,” which is said to have the power to change the course of history. Along the way, she encounters various obstacles and enemies, including the Outer Church and their agents Mr. Quimper and Colonel Friday. The Invisibles follows a group of occultist terrorists who use time travel, magic, and psychic powers to fight against physical and psychic oppression by the forces of order. For most of the series, the team includes leader King Mob; Lord Fanny, a Brazilian shaman; Boy, a former member of the NYPD; Ragged Robin, a telepath with a mysterious past; and Jack Frost, a young hooligan from Liverpool who may be the next Buddha.
