This fascinating scene also includes a wooden clock dial in the centre of the chalet, and a timber pendulum. One striking feature of this particular clock is the vibrant colours of the design with a number of hand painted features including the roof and the window shutters, whilst the overall design is rounded out by colourful dancers situated on a balcony above the clock dial. Whilst most cuckoo clocks that feature dancers depict black forest dancers in traditional attire, this particular clock features young children with animals that twirl to the music. Chalet style cuckoo clocks are the most famous and common type of cuckoo clock, and are often featured in the shape of alpine houses.
