Description: This is adhesive backed speaker foam gasket tape for later production AR woofers, midranges and tweeters. You purchase it by the number of 3 foot lengths required. Early production AR speakers, like the AR-3 and AR-3a, utilized a putty like cabinet sealer to seal all the drivers in the cabinet for an acoustic suspension speaker, famous for achieving accurate low bass in a relatively small cabinet. This "Cabinet Sealer" is still available in this Dept. Considerably later, as in the Models AR-11 and AR 9, AR utilized a formed foam gasket for the same purpose. When removing any AR driver, it is wise to replace the original gasket material and not risk an air leak when your project is thought to be complete. This material is ideal for replacing those old gasket rings which might no longer offer a good seal. It is adhesive backed and is simple to apply to the rear of the driver. It will compress tight to the cabinet and ensure an air tight seal. Screws can easily pierce the foam for mounting. A purchase of 1 (one) is for a length of 3 feet. For a 12 inch or 10 inch woofer, 3 feet or 1 length is required for each woofer. So, for a pair, order two lengths. Smaller woofers, require approx. 2 foot for each driver. Tweeters and mid ranges require about 1 foot.In most cases, we will ship in one length if possible. That way, you can cut of what you need as you go along and save the remaining for other uses.
