Shown wet.“Angelite” is a unique form of Anhydrite found most commonly in areas of Chihuahua, Mexico. It is found in evaporite deposits often with halite (salt) and selenite (gypsum). The rare angelite of Mexico is typically in a geodic form, covered with white talc, but when hit with a hammer, a stunning light blue emerges (a form of calcium). Less attractive anhydrite pieces are located in New Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana.
