Este proceso se basa en la incompatibilidad de la grasa y el agua. Una vez la piedra humedecida, la tinta de impresión solo queda retenida en las zonas dibujadas. La historia del grabado en Cuba se remonta al siglo XIX y estuvo asociado a la industria tabacalera.
