Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE ANSONIA J SERIES MANTEL CLOCK WITH ALARM IN GREAT ORIGINAL CONDITION Offered for sale is a nice Ansonia mantel clock that is in good condition. The Ansonia J series clocks are shown in Ly’s Ansonia book on page 470. Ansonia made a number of letter series clocks around 1900. These clocks were boxed up and sold to retailers in groups of six. The glass has the original reverse painting on it and the original dial and nickel-plated pendulum are in very good condition with the proper aging. The clock shows well and strikes out the hours and the half-hour on a large coil gong. The clock has the alarm feature as well. A video of the clock striking and the alarm working is attached so that you can listen to the clock strike out the hours and the wake the dead alarm. A widow called and asked me to liquidate the clock collection of her husband who had passed. The clocks had been serviced years prior but the oil had solidified. I removed the movement and the alarm from the case and ran both units through the ultrasonic cleaner. I then oil the movement, reinstall in the case and put the clock in beat. This is a running clock that has ran for a full eight-day cycle. All these clocks in this lot will be put up for sale as time permits. Shipping with be $48 via fully insured Fed Ex Home Delivery.
