Description: Being offered is a smoking nice pair of antique owl fireplace andirons. These owls stand 13 inches tall, are 3.75 inches across the ears and 8 1/8 inches wide at the feet and are 1 inch deep. Very good overall condition. I gave them a new coat of high heat paint and new glass eyes. I am including the original eyes. The original eyes have a ton of cracks and small pieces missing. they are missing the log holders (fire dogs). No cracks or rust. The bolt for the eye holder broke on one, I replaced it with a wing nut. I believe these are from the mid to late 1800s. On the back side they are marked 2 144g. Grab them before they are gone..! These will get more scarce as time goes by and become more valuable. Buy with confidence, I'm a veteran seller on eBay since 1998. These andirons will be well packed to arrive safely..!
