King were New York City merchants during the last half of the 19th century. They were listed in the New York City directory as "importers of English hardware, cutlery, and guns" at 51 Beekman Street". I believe this plane was made for them circa 1850. Condition: (See Pictures) Excellent specimen. Wear, marks, cracks consistent with age. The piece is stable and given a light coat of lemon oil for restoration purposes.
