Description: This rocking arm chair is made by Old Hickory Chair Co. Martinsville IND. It represents the early years of the company before the name changed on the incised stamp. The stamp is on the leg. This rocking chair was made between 1895 - 1921. This is a very heavy and sturdy rocking chair. It has been used throughout the years and does have some damage which is reflected thru the detailed pictures. This damage is very common for its age and still would be considered to be in good condition. Some restoration may be needed. Old Hickory Chair Co. used a incised stamp or used a paper decal. In some cases nothing at all. This rocking chair has the incised stamp. The early furniture made by this company had a simple weave to the seat and back rest. The bark of the wood is prominent throughout the whole chair. This rocking chair is separately listed and four other matching pieces are listed in our eBay store.
