Description: Offered is an antique 19th century hanging brass plated Top Hat Trade Sign for a haberdashery with hand forged iron hanging ring and bracket. The tinsmith made the sign with soldered joints and a rolled hat rim edge. The black paint is not original but was painted later. It nevertheless does show wear from age and use. All seams are tight. Condition is good with one very small dent on the top of the hat close to the edge (see photos). The sign measures 7" tall plus the hanging ring x 13 1/8" front to back x 101/2" wide. The bracket protrudes from the wall 8½". The hat weighs 3 lbs. 3 oz. Box is 12 x 12 x 12 inches
